For those turning 65, navigating the complexities of Medicare is top of mind. To help these seniors navigate the nuances of Medicare supplemental insurance, Advance Media New York, in partnership with Excellus BlueCross BlueShield will host a free webinar and Q&A with expert panelists on June 7 at 3 p.m.
Presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, this one-hour virtual event aims to simplify the complex process through interactive information sessions with local Medicare experts.
“Medicare is a difficult process to navigate for seniors and their families,” said Lindsay Marlenga, Senior Director of Marketing at Advance Media New York. “This webinar was designed to provide answers and direction to help navigate the landscape and to find the plan options that fit best with their lifestyle and available resources.”
Topics will be broken down in two sessions and will include:

- · “Do I Have the Right Plan for Me?”
- · A Q&A session with the panelists will follow each discussion

About the panelists:
Tim Shadle, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Tim has represented Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in the Central New York region since 2005. As a Regional Medicare Sales Consultant, Tim assists people with learning how Medicare works, what plans are available to them, and how to make the best choice for their health and budget. He hosts Medicare seminars for the public, Medicare 101 sessions for local businesses, and 1-on-1 appointments anywhere members need him. Tim lives in Skaneateles with his wife, a son in college, and a daughter in High School.
Daniel Goetzman, Goetzman and Associates LLC Dan uses his extensive accounting and finance background to work the numbers with the insurance carriers. He received his BS in Accounting from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He received his MBA in Finance from Syracuse University, and worked with KPMG Peat Marwick as an accountant before going into the benefits business and has taught Economics and Corporate Finance at Empire State College.
Taylor Kuzel, Onondaga County Adult and Long-Term Care Services, has a master’s degree in Public Health from Upstate Medical University with a dual certificate in Health Services Management and Policy through Syracuse University. Taylor oversees the Medicare Counseling program, the Senior Shopping program, as well as the Neighborhood Advisor program and provides Medicare eligible individuals with the information and resources they need to decide what Medicare plan works for them.
